Blayne Salerni studied Trumpet Performance at the University of Delaware. There, he studied with NFL Films trumpet player Rob Skoniczin. He also received a Jazz Studies minor where he studied with Broadway Saxophone great Todd Groves, and local jazz artist Tom Palmer.
During his time at the University of Delaware, Blayne has played in multiple ensembles. He has toured with the UD Wind Ensemble to Taiwan, where he served as Principal Trumpet. He has also played trumpet in UD's premier Jazz Ensembles and has been featured as a soloist on many pieces. During his time in Jazz Ensemble, he has gotten the chance to work with artists such as Larry McKenna, the Army Blues' Graham Breedlove, and Matt Harris.
Being a Delaware-based Trumpeter, Blayne has also had the pleasure of working with Delaware legends such as Tony Smith, Rob Zinn, and Streetlight Manifesto's own Matt Stewart. You can find him playing anything from playing funk with his local band, Universal Funk Order to playing Salsa with artists such as Frankie Ruiz Jr, and everything in between! Blayne is a highly sought after trumpet player in the DE/NJ/PA area.
Blayne currently teaches Music at Smyrna Middle School and is also in charge of the Delaware All-State Jazz Ensemble.
